Cemi’i Can Deliorman (*1984) is an acclaimed young conductor from Turkey and is now one of the most sought-after conductors of the younger generation. He currently holds the position of chief-conductor of the Presidential Symphony Orchestra (CSO) as the youngest leader in the orchestra’s deep-rooted history. He was appointed at the end of the 2019/2020 season, carrying on a great tradition; the orchestra, which was founded in 1826, claims to be one of the world’s oldest orchestras.
Forthcoming 2022/23 highlights as well as recent 2021/22 appearances include: conducting the Presidential Symphony Orchestra in the Istanbul Music Festival (IKSV) featuring world – famous cellist Gautier Capuçon and Ankara Music Festival featuring renowned violinist Maxim Vengerov, UK debut with the Hezarfen Ensemble in Bristol and guest conductor Orchestra Sinfonica di Sanremo, Orchestra Sinfonica di Grosseto in Italy.

Further broadcast collaborations continue to increase with Mezzo Tv including Dvorak’s Cello Concerto from last season and many other highlight concerts from the upcoming 2022 / 2023 season.
Deliorman has conducted numerous concerts in recent years, including performances of Verdi’s “Messa di Requiem”, Mahler’s 4th Symphony, Dvorak’s 9th Symphony, Korsakov’s “Scheherazade”, Beethoven’s 7th and “Choral Symphony”, Mozart’s “Requiem”, Brahms 1st Symphony, Frankc’s “Symphony in d” – Turkish premieres of Honegger and Korngold Cello Concertos, staged productions of “Carmina Burana” at the State Opera & Ballet recording Ligeti’s “Chamber Concerto”, Schönberg’s “Chamber Symphony” with the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic and several world premieres of music composed by living composers, fueled by his passion for new music.
He is co-founder of the Gedik Philharmonic Orchestra in İstanbul where he was music director between 2018 – 2020. In creative leadership with the orchestra, he developed unique programs with a repertoire stretching from late baroque to contemporary music, which have thus thrilled audiences of all tastes.
Initially trained as a violinist, Deliorman received his early training at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and graduated from the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz in Austria. During his master studies in Princeton USA; worked with renowned conductors Pierre Boulez and Kurt Masur as a major influence in his music career. He received his Master’s degree in orchestral conducting with Martin Sieghart and studied choral conducting with Johannes Prinz in Austria.
