Biography
Cemi’i Can Deliorman (*1984) is an acclaimed young conductor from Turkey. In September
2010 he became Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the National Choir Turkey where he
leads regular tours in Turkey as well as in Europe and he is often invited to distinguished
symphony orchestras as guest conductor. From September 2017, he is appointed co –
Conductor of the Presidential Symphony Orchestra.
His repertoire spans the great symphonic and choral-orchestral works – from Beethoven, Mozart, Brahms, Dvořák, Mahler, Rimsky-Korsakov, Franck and Orff – to rarities and premieres. He introduced Turkish audiences to cello concerti by Arthur Honegger and Erich Korngold and recorded Ligeti’s Chamber Concerto and Schoenberg’s Chamber Symphony with the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra. A strong advocate of contemporary music, he remains committed to championing new works and living composers.
